Podzinger Can Search Video Speech

logo-big1.gif

Podzinger just might have a little bit more functionality. Instead of limiting your search to how a video’s been tagged, the company’s speech-to-text technology analyzes everything that’s said in a given video and allows you to search the resulting text. Not only that, but the results display the search words highlighted and clickable; doing so takes you to the exact spot on the clip when the word is spoken.

Blinkx, Video Searching And The Wall

logo.png

Y’all’s heard about YouTube getting bought by Google for a cool $1,65billion, right? So, I imagine you get the message: video is hot. There are video sharing/aggregating/searching sites popping up all over the place, and one of these recently caught our eye. It’s called Blinkx, and what you see above this text is one of their products. It’s a little slow loading, so be patient. Blinkx is essentially a video searching site, and they feature “6 million hours of video content”, which you can easily search. In this sense, it’s not unlike YouTube. But they don’t host the entire videos. Instead, once you find videos related to your search, you can watch a short preview, after which you’re prompted to watch the whole thing at its source.

But the really cool feature is this thing called “The Wall”, and it’s what you’re seeing now, right above. You can search for anything you like (in this case, we searched for “gadgets”) and then display the results in a wall of clips, which you can embed on your site. You can choose how large you make it, which can be as big as 8 by 8, or 64 clips simultaneously streaming to you. We decided to spare you the time it would take for a thing like that to fully load. The display is also continuously updated via RSS, so presumably the mix of clips changes over time.

If you want to see something really fun, mouse over the clips and see what happens.

Digital Bible Player, the pious PMP

XELL_1_jpg.jpg

a Korean company, has been offering for a few years an electronic bible. The latest model resembles a PMP more than anything else. The Digital Bible Player (DBP) replaces your paper bible if you own one. You can bookmark certain pages of that novel that still sells after 2,000 years of existence. Otherwise, the DBP has a few interesting features to help you survive when at church, such as an MP3 player, an FM tuner, and an e-book reader (slot SD). This product comes 20 years too late for us .

washing-system-electrolux-kaionwave_63.jpg

Up till now water was the necessary ingredient if you had to do your laundry but the Electrolux has presented a new evolution in the laundry sphere a KaionWAVE washing system.

The machine is designed to break every rule in the laundry business and the most amazing thing about this machine is that it doesn’t require water to clean clothes but uses Ultraviolet-C light and a mixture of active oxygen to do the cleaning.

It is being developed to clean strain resistant clothing’s made of nano-coated material which the developers are saying will be more durable and stain resistant.

The Ultraviolet light will kill all the germs and oxygen will oxidize and remove the stains from your clothing.

The machine requires minimum maintenance and will give a chemical free and water free wash to your cloths. Environmentalists will be happy as they blame even detergent as a polluting agent.

The availability of this washing machine is any time in near future as it is still in conceptual stage.

Get on with the action with Pronto condoms :) ye baby

pronto-condom.jpg

These condoms were designed for unprecedented ease of use, and can be applied within a few seconds without all the slippery motions that you were used to with conventional rubber. All you need to do is to crack the pack open and unroll it directly onto the erect member. This is made possible thanks to a tiny plastic applicator which comes inside each foil pouch, where the applicator enables the condom to unroll by itself whenever the pack is slid downwards.

RFID Digital Door Lock

rfid-digital-lock-components.jpg

Key locks are just the worst, every time you want in and every time you want to lock up, you’ve got to go through the enormous task of turning that key. Sure, it doesn’t sound like much, but it would be a lot easier (and about a million times cooler) if you could just wave a little card and the door would lock or open itself for you. That still leaves the annoying process of turning the doorknob, but a solution for that isn’t quite ready yet.
Thanks to the greatness of RFID, your days of turning locks have ended. Never again will you be locked out because of forgetting your own keys. In addition to the RFID pad, it has a key pad that can be used to unlock the door (using your secure PIN). If ever your PIN becomes compromised, it’s easy to reprogram the PIN number and RFID cards. Now onto the best part of this lock, at anytime you want you can wave one of your fobs, cards, or tags onto the card reader and the lock will open right up (or close). Come on, I know you think it’s cool.

This lock is great for security as well. It’s 100% pick proof because . . . well, there aren’t any holes to pick. Also, the dead bolt mode for night disables all outside access and if ever the door is opened forcefully, an alarm will sound. There’s also an automatic locking mode which will lock the doors whenever you leave (this can be disabled). You might be worried about the batteries in this thing, as I was, but there are contacts for an emergency 9 volt battery the lock can use if the batteries become completely drained.

All this is pretty awesome, but it’s a bit a lot more expensive than your ordinary deadbolt: $300. But come on, if you’re geeky enough you’d love to have a RFID lock.

The Dunkers Mug

dunkmug.jpg

If you enjoy dunking the odd digestive in your tea or coffee, this is the solution to the not enough hands problem (okay problem is probably an exaggeration), the dunk mug.

The dunk mug has a compartment at the bottom to store your biscuits prior to dunking, so you can hold the mug in one hand and and retrieve one biscuit at a time ready for the dunk.
